Apollo 2

Q: Why is the Apollo 2 solution described as controllerless?

  • The Apollo 2 PCI NIC requires no embedded NIC processor. All controller processing is managed by the processor on the host PC.
Q: How does ADSL achieve high data rates?
  • ADSL increases the bandwidth of an existing phone line by making use of unused bandwidth. Most cable is only using 4000 Hz of cable bandwidth for transmission of voice and modem. By using the 1.1 Megahertz bandwidth capability of phone cable, data rates of over 8 Million bits per second (bps) are possible (compared to the maximum rate of 56 kbps for today's V.90 modems).
