Q: What is SAM? 

• SAM stands for "Scalable ADSL Modem" and is an ITeX patented technology targeted at host-based solutions for desktop PCs, laptops, Internet appliances and PDA platforms. The SAM technology is a controllerless architecture, with the functions of a Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) chip also performed by the host processor.  Through the optimized interface between hardware and software, it is the most cost-effective solution for full-rate ADSL.  SAM 3 is the chipset that implements the SAM technology.
